ABOUT THE ARTIST
Shivi (Shivali Malhotra) is a singer/song-writer based in London and born and raised in Delhi NCR, India. She grew up listening to Classic Rock, Jazz, Pop, Blues, Old Hindi Music, and Sufi, all because of her father’s eclectic tastes and massive CD collection. After 5 years in New York, where she was influenced by Indie, Soul and Jazz music, she moved back to India, she discovered a love for singing Hindustani Light Classical and Sufi music alongside contemporary western music.
Her writing is influenced by soulful imagery, with a touch of nostalgia. She enjoys incorporating elements of synth-pop in her music, and alternates it with raw and acoustic pieces with soaring melodies.

'Love You' is an Electronic RnB song about forbidden love and temptation. The song evokes a sense of impending doom and drama surrounding a relationship which is not accepted by society or societal norms.
Shivi wrote the melody and lyrics in 2021 during the pandemic, inspired by social dissension, the Covid Lockdown and surrounding events. She worked with Chezin on producing the song, combining elements of drum machines, synth bass, synthesisers and piano to bring the song to life.

'Cold Regrets' is an Old Timey, Nostalgic song best savored with a glass of single malt. With gentle arpeggios, the song talks about year long journeys through friendship and love, that may also end in regret. The song is a future note of apology to Shivi's loved ones, for any hurt that was caused in the past and not addressed.
Shivi wrote this melody during the Covid-19 Lockdown- on her Guru Brian Silas Sir's 12 year old C Bechstein Grand Piano. She wrote this song from a place of extreme nostalgia for past events and memories. She also imbibed the experiences of all her older family members, who would express sadness about past events.
